PressReader, the service that provides The Day's electronic paper, is still experiencing a system-wide outage and has classified the cause as a "cyber incident."
The network outage affecting our electronic paper, which is a digital copy of our print product, began on Thursday, March 3. Since then, our readers have been unable to access the latest versions of the digital e-paper. According to PressReader, the outage is affecting all of the service's clients.
"PressReader's technical teams have been working around the clock to address the recent disruptions to services," said a statement from the company. "Our security teams have now classified this as a cyber security incident. This situation comes as companies across North America have seen an increase in security incidents over the past several weeks."
A company statement released late Friday on Twitter, said, "At this stage, we do not see any evidence that customer data has been compromised, and we are continuing to restore content processing so that we can release current issues of your favorite publications."
As a reminder, while we wait for the electronic paper to be restored, readers can see all of The Day's content online at theday.com.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will publish an update once we receive one.
