Raytheon Technologies‘ (NYSE: RTX) missiles and defense business has received a $90.2 million contract modification from the Missile Defense Agency to perform tests and related activities to support the transition of a guidance electronic unit to production as part of the Standard Missile-3 Block IIA program.
Under the award, Raytheon Missiles and Defense will create a common platform test equipment and modernize aging technology into test configured-hardware, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Systems engineering tasks and software load capability development are also part of the transition to production activities. The contractor will perform work through July 31, 2023, at its Tucson, Arizona facility.
MDA’s action raised the total contract value to $2.74 billion from $2.65 billion. The agency is obligating $25.9 million in fiscal 2021 research and development funds for the contract modification.
