EVERGREEN, Colo. - WDS Radar in Evergreen, Colo., is introducing a high-density gallium nitride (GaN)-based pulsed power amplifier for pulsed radar, electronic countermeasures, electronic warfare (EW), and phased-array radar.
The amplifier features patented methodologies that have eliminated waste heat and the need for bulky heat sinks, fans, or cooling liquids. The amplifier measures 12 by 12.2 by 2.5 inches and has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.8 kilowatts per 13.1 pounds typical.
This efficient design also has a minimal primary power requirement eliminating the need for a large DC power supply. Amplifier gain is 64.5 decibels, 0 decibels drive level, a standard operating duty cycle of 10 percent, and pulse widths to 300 microseconds.
The scalable, modular design can combine for higher power requirements. On board monitoring includes temperature, duty cycle, current, and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR).
The product comes in S, C, and X radar bands, and is made in the USA. For more information contact WDS radar online at http://wdsradar.com.
