NORMAL (WEEK) - Since March when stay at home orders went into place, people found themselves spending more time indoors and finding new things to do inside.

Whether its cleaning out the house of old electronics, or replacing the old with new ones, the Town of Normal offers free electronic recycling.

Normal Public Works Maintenance Specialist Conrad Riordan said with the pandemic, they have seen an increase in electronic drop offs, and with holiday season approaching it will only get busier.

"It's basically nonstop, its a good thing that we have so that this stuff don't end up in landfills and out in the country," said Riordan.

Riordan said they see everything dropped off, from old televisions and gaming systems, to plasmas and laptops, and around the holiday season old Christmas lights.

If you've got some old electronics to recycle, you can stop by the Normal Public Works Facility Monday through Friday 7-2:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month.
