IPSWICH — Volunteers were kept busy on Saturday morning as the town turned out to dispose of its unwanted electronic equipment.

“What a day! What a day!” said Dave Benedix, chair of the town’s waste reduction advisory committee.

“This is what happens when you don’t do it for a year,” he added.

The waste electronics day is usually held twice a year, but the spring event was canceled due to the pandemic.

As electronics are full of heavy (and precious) metals, they should be separated from regular trash. There was a small charge for dropping items off, and the money will be used for other waste programs around town.
